How accurate is the GPS altitude measurement?
Now Altimeter combines your iPhone's GPS module with its built-in barometer sensor for altitude measurements precise to within a few metres. Ideal for hiking, mountain tours, climbing, skiing and any outdoor activity.
Does the altimeter also work without an internet connection?
Yes – Now Altimeter works fully offline. GPS and barometer run locally on the device. No Wi-Fi or cellular connection required. Perfect for alpine regions and areas without coverage.
Is there an Apple Watch app?
Yes – Now Altimeter Pro includes a native Apple Watch app. You see altitude and GPS coordinates straight on your wrist without taking your iPhone out. Compass and UTM coordinates are available too.
What's the difference between GPS altitude and barometer altitude?
GPS provides absolute altitude values above sea level but can be inaccurate when reception is poor. The barometer sensor measures air pressure and detects relative altitude changes very precisely. Now Altimeter shows both values for optimal results.
Can I record hikes and view the elevation profile?
With Now Altimeter Pro you record every tour with a single tap. The app saves ascent, descent, total elevation, route and duration. After the tour you see the route and elevation profile in detail on the map.
